Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or 4 additional years of experience
  • 1 year of experience in information system security

  • Ensure implementation and maintenance of security controls
  • Direct and implement controls to protect information systems assets
  • Provide guidance for physical protection of information systems assets
  • Assist with reviewing, developing, and navigating the Authority to Operate (ATO) process
  • Perform network self-inspections
  • Create and edit documentation for the ATO package, including System Security Plan and IS contingency plan
  • Develop Plan of Action and Milestone (POAMS) from vulnerability data

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Information System Security Officer (Junior) in Huntsville, AL. Key Tasks:

  • Serves as the principal advisor to the Information System Owner (SO), Business Process Owner, and the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)/Information System Security Manager (ISSM) on all matters, technical and otherwise, involving the security of an information system
  • ISSOs are responsible for ensuring the implementation and maintenance of security controls
  • Directs and implements the necessary controls and procedures to cost-effectively protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction
  • Provides guidance and direction for the physical protection of information systems assets to other functional units
  • Provides reports to superiors regarding effectiveness of data security and makes recommendations for the adoption of new procedures
  • Assist with reviewing, developing, and navigating the system, team, and customer through the Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditation/certification documentation process. Perform network self-inspections
  • Create new and edit existing documentation that forms the Authority to Operate (ATO) package to include the System Security Plan and IS contingency plan
  • Develop Plan of Action and Milestone (POAMS) from vulnerability data and enter into the system of record

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or in lieu of degree 4 additional years of experience
  • 1 year of experience

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
